A Message from Mr. Petrone...
Dear Parents:
I am both honored and proud to introduce myself as the principal at G. H. Robertson Intermediate School. Coventry is a community with strong family values, which are evident in its commitment to striving for a first-class school system. For the last seven years I’ve enjoyed working in a town with such high standards, and I look forward to working here for years to come.
Prior to accepting my position at G. H. Robertson Intermediate School, I served as Assistant Principal at Captain Nathan Hale Middle School. Before I arrived in Coventry, I was a Special Education Teacher in Manchester, Connecticut. In addition to my teaching responsibilities, I served as Principal of the Manchester Credit Diploma Program, an educational program designed for students who faced difficulties in a traditional high school setting. I believe that the combination of these experiences has provided me with a solid foundation for my current position.
In my many years as an educator, one truth revealed itself over and over again: that open communication is critical for a successful relationship between student, parent and teacher. Thus, I hope to meet or speak with as many parents as possible over the 2007/2008 school year. You can rest assured that I will make it a priority to speak to you about any issues you feel may be affecting your child’s comfort and performance at our school. I can be reached through the school office, at 742-7341.
In closing, I would like to express my belief that all students can succeed in school, given the right support and academic stimulation. As Principal, I plan to work in partnership with parents and teachers, as we strive to make G. H. Robertson Intermediate School one of Connecticut’s most outstanding schools.
Sincerely,
David Petrone
