Hello parents and students! My name is Brigette Boenig, and I am the 8th grade Language Arts and Reading teacher at Captain Nathan Hale Middle School. Prior to coming to this school, I worked as a substitute teacher for Windham Public Schools, and I taught 8th grade Language Arts and Reading for one year as a long-term substitute teacher at Kelly Middle School in Norwich, Connecticut. I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Eastern Connecticut State University with a concentration in 7-12 Secondary Education and a B.A. in English in 2005. During my time at ECSU, I interned for one of my English professors teaching and tutoring freshmen students. In addition, I wrote a proposal and received funding from ECSU to attend the Medieval Renaissance Forum at Plymouth State University in Plymouth, New Hampshire, where I presented the paper I had written for my senior seminar. For my last semester at ECSU, I did my student teaching at Teachers' Memorial Middle School in Norwich, Connecticut. In addition, I am currently working on my M.A. in Secondary Education-Reading and Language Arts through Saint Joseph College.
