Camp Creaser Obsevation Platforms

This year students will be creating their own companies that are being commissioned to design and construct vernal pool observation platforms at Camp Creaser.  Working in cooperatively with Mr. Eric Trott, 8-B students will learn about local and state building codes.  Our goal is to design and construct observation platforms that may be used by school groups and the greater community.  View more about the project....

 

Science Chapter 1 & 2

Project

Working in pairs, students will research a given topic from chapter 1 or 2. Student pairs will produce an interactive project in the form of a powerpoint, song, dance, music video, TV commercial, class demonstration or documentary video.

Presidential Greatness

Soon, students will be examining individual presidents and measuring presidential greatness.  Working in groups of three, students will explore both the achievements and failures of our Cheif Executives in office.  They will mount their findings on displayboards, which will be presented to parents at an evening viewing. This project was funded by a Coventry Board of Education grant.

Black and Women's History

During the months of Februrary and March, students will be writing competetive, interpretive essays in celebration of Black and women's history months.  Awards will be given at promotion exercises held at the end of the year.

Language Arts

Hound of the Baskervilles

Students have begun Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's classic Hound of the Baskervilles.  We will examine the life of the author and his famous creation Sherlock Holmes.  

Social Studies

Exploring Regions

Working in collaboration with Mr. DiBattista, period 7 social studies class will investigate regions of the world through history, geography, illustrations, and the arts.  Teaching objectives include CMT preperation, Bloom's Taxonomy and

the National Standards in Social Studies.
