Presently Melissa is the Choral Director at Coventry High School and has taught there for the past ten years. Throughout her years at Coventry High School, Melissa has been the choral chair for the Charter Oak Music Festival and has attended all the Eastern Regional and Allstate Music Festivals with her top students. Melissa has also taken her students on various trips throughout the United States and Montreal for music festivals where her students were adjudicated by well known music educators. Every year, her students have received a rating of excellent and many of her choirs have won first place competing against other choirs from around the country. She is also the Choir Director at The First Baptist Church of Mansfield. Melissa was the guest conductor for the Festival of Singing Children in Holyoke, Massachusetts in March 2011. She has performed with various community theaters over the past 20 years. Performances include: Oliver, And the World Goes Round, Godspell, Nunsensations, Leader of the Pack, Smokey Joe’s Café, Joseph…Dreamcoat, Jesus Christ Superstar, Guy’s & Dolls, Par For the Corpse, Little Shop of Horrors and Grease. Melissa has a Masters degree in Music Education from the Hartt School of Music and has been a professional soloist for Christian Science Churches over the past eleven years.
