Karen Bartolomeo earned a B.S. in Business Education in 1979 from Annhurst College, in South Woodstock, CT; an M.S. in Counseling in 1986 from Central CT State University; and has completed coursework, toward an M.B.A. from Nichols College, in Dudley, MA. In 1996, she became an Enrolled Agent with the Internal Revenue Service and was the owner/operator of a private tax practice from 1990 until 2002. In order to remain current with tax laws and satisfy IRS licensing renewal requirements, Mrs. Bartolomeo attends 24 hours of tax education courses annually.
Mrs. Bartolomeo joined the faculty of Coventry High School in September of 2001. In addition to her duties as a classroom teacher, she has served on the Technology Committee, the Portfolio Committee, and is a member of the District Curriculum Resource Team. She served as Co-Chair of the Steering Committee in preparation for the NEAS&C school re-evaluation in 2006. Her previous teaching experiences have been with Tolland High School (Tolland, CT), All Hallows School (Plainfield, CT), and Quinebaug Valley Community College (Danielson and Willimantic campuses).
Mrs. Bartolomeo’s accounting and finance work experience include employment as a lending officer at Fleet Bank of Connecticut (now Bank of America) and asset management at Society for Savings in Hartford.
Mrs. Bartolomeo lives “in the middle of nowhere” in Ashford, CT. She enjoys Broadway theater, knitting, genealogy, and music—especially The Beatles!
