Ronnine Kim

I am the School Social Worker, spending part of each week at Coventry Grammar School and part at G.H. Robertson School.  At CGS I wear several “hats” – parent educator in the Parents As Teachers program; supervisor of a social support program and, in general, a counselor to the children (grades K to 2).

Support and advice to parents as well as school staff also occupy some of my time.

Because my overall goal is to help make each child’s school experience as positive as possible, I provide small groups on topics helpful to them at various times – such as, social skills, separation and loss as well as building self-confidence.

I offer to all grade 1 and 2 students the Lunch Bunch, in which groups of 4 to 5 children (with parents’ permission) are my guests for lunch, at least once during the school year.

My first profession was Nursing.  I am a graduate of St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing.  My Social Work education consisted of a Bachelor of Science degree from Eastern Connecticut State University and a Masters in Social Work from the University of Connecticut School of Social Work.  My continuing areas of special interest are Early Intervention with children from birth to age 3,  the effects of Divorce on Children,  Children on the Autism Spectrum  and  Positive Parenting.

I can be reached by calling 742-7313 and look forward to being of any help/support I can give.
