Mrs. Jones graduated from Central Connecticut State University with her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education.  She taught fourth grade in Vernon, CT at Maple Street School for five and a half years.  Mrs. Jones stayed at home with her two boys while they were young.  During this time, she held many board positions in the MOMS Club of South Windsor, tutored students in reading and math from the Hartford Public Schools’ system, and taught Sunday School classes in her church.  She graduated with her Master’s Degree in Reading from CCSU.

Mrs. Jones started working at Coventry Grammar School as a Reading Teacher in 2005.  She is part of the Reading Room staff and has the pleasure of working with highly trained para-educators and the school’s Reading Consultant.  Mrs. Jones believes that all children can learn to read.  She embraces the philosophy that early intervention is the key to reading success.  She enjoys working with the students at CGS one-on-one and in small groups.  Her goal is to instill in children a love for reading that they can use throughout their lives for work, enjoyment, and future learning.

In her free time, Mrs. Jones enjoys scrapbooking, reading children’s books, and spending time with family and friends.  She also loves helping out with her sons’ Cub Scout dens and playing with her two new Labrador puppies.
