Grade 2 Curriculum Night

Coventry Grammar School’s Grade 2 teaching team sponsored a first-ever Curriculum Night for parents on Wednesday evening, September 26.  The hour-long presentation focused on grade-level expectations, practices, and programs related to the instruction of Reading, Spelling, Writing, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies.  After a PowerPoint overview prepared and narrated by the teachers, parents were divided into four groups for visits to teacher-designed learning centers.  At these centers, pairs of Grade 2 teachers displayed and explained a variety of teaching tools and teaching strategies.  Each parent received a packet of materials that reviewed the information presented, along with helpful suggestions to extend learning into the home.
