Nominee:  Sharon Davis

Nominated by:  Veronica Kim

Sharon has been the quintessential teacher.  Her students have been evidence of not only her instruction, but also her advocacy for each one (boy/girl) as a child, a learner, a member of the school and community.  She has given untold hours to:  writing curriculum, EAC leadership, nurturing teachers-to-be and new teachers.  Sharon has taught me to go beyond being an educator, to be a truly dedicated person – caring for students and colleagues.

Nominee:  Stacey Fulton

Nominated by:  Kim Crowley

Stacey is one of the most patient and positive staff members I’ve been lucky enough to work with.  She constantly goes above and beyond to help students and staff.  She is extremely creative in problem solving.  Altogether, she show genuine care and concern for all students on a daily basis.

Nominee:  Cathy Garrity

Nominated by:  Elaine Hoeflein

I would like to recognize Cathy Garrity.  Her kind, caring, sharing nature as part of the world language team makes it a pleasure to come to work each day at Coventry High School!

Nominee:  Elaine Guyette

Nominated by:  Jeff Spivey

Elaine has co-taught with me for almost 7 full years now.  She first began in my math classes and helped me to identify ways to improve professionally when working with struggling math students.  This year she has been co-teaching with me in my language arts class… and she has been a “rock” for me.  I have never been much of a “writing” teacher, but she has helped me learn and grow this year as I enjoy my writing class daily.  She is a wonderful asset to our team and school.

Nominated by:  Laura Myslinski

I like to categorize Elaine as my “professional development” for the last four years.  After teaching in a self-contained classroom for so long, I was extremely nervous taking on a regular full class.  Through her constant guidance and support I’ve been able to become a knowledgeable, confident teacher.  She should be recognized for her dedication to teaching others.

Nominee:  Dick Hartley

Nominated by:  Doreen Pelletier

Dick is one of those people who always has a smile on his face.  He has had a tough year medically both him/wife and grandchild, yet always drops what he is doing to supply you whatever you requested.  He will gladly share his candy in the jar in his office!

Nominee:  Nora Jones

Nominated by:  Sarah Woodin, Lynn Bernier, and Kathy Sandberg

She is an awesome team leader and teacher.  She goes above and beyond to ensure that students are challenged in a creative learning environment.  She always puts the best interest of her students first and has high expectations for them.  As a team leader, Nora is well organized, efficient and keeps the team running smoothly.  She’s the wind beneath our wings!

Nominee:  Fred Lambert

Nominated by:  Judy Burr

He has gone above and beyond his contractual district duties and rendered help to the “technologically challenged” individuals in the guidance office since MMS was initiated.  He has provided on-the-spot training and troubleshooting for guidance staff and Virtual High School students, and helped wit a ton of patience, good humor, and an understanding grin that kept the climate positive.

Nominee:  Kim Licata

Nominated by:  Janine Goldsnider

Kim has been and is still the most generous teacher I have ever worked with.  She shares her time and materials with anyone who asks.  She is always available to answer questions and give sensible advice.

Nominee:  Judy Ripp

Nominated by:  William Cherniske

As a 6th grade special education teacher working on our team and in my classroom, Judy has made a major impact upon my teaching style.  She has stressed the importance that all students need to be reached and in various ways.  Also, she has an unbelievably strong desire to see all of her students succeed.  She has been a true mentor to me.

Nominee:  Carol Sheehan

Nominee:  Mary Talaga

Nominated by:  Carolyn Bennett

Mary is always there to lend a helping hand.  She will do anything and everything no matter how cumbersome the task.  She can often be found after hours helping teachers or preparing for students.  If you ask her why she would say, “It’s no big deal, I like doing it.”  She loves her job and there is never a question as to the fact that her heart is in the right place.

Nominee:  Jenn Todisco

Nominated by:  Marigrace Miller

As a fellow class advisor, Jenn went above and beyond the call of duty answering my questions and assisting with sophomore class events such as the high school talent show and ring dance.  She had her plate full with senior activities, yet generously lent her time and talents to the sophomore class.  Her support is truly appreciated by me!
