ALERTNOW Notification System

Keeping you informed is a top priority at Coventry Public Schools. That is why we have implemented the ALERTNOW Notification System, which allows us to provide important information to parents via a telephone message. ALERTNOW is used to notify parents of school emergencies, closings, delayed openings, and unplanned early releases.  In the event of an emergency at school, parents can have peace of mind knowing that they will be informed as soon as possible by phone. In addition, we use the system to phone parents if your child is absent from school and the nurse has not received parent notification (attendance call). If you have any questions about ALERTNOW, please call your child’s school office.

Crisis Response Drills

Due to State mandates, Coventry Public Schools is required to perform Crisis Response Drills three times every school year.  While the district has routinely practiced fire drills, Crisis Response Drills are a bit different. Students and staff will be staying in their rooms, locking doors, and learning how to respond in these situations.  Another area in which Crisis Response Drills are different than fire drills, is there is more involvement with town agencies other than just the Fire Departments. If you have any questions about the Crisis Response Drill procedures, please phone your child’s school.
